Regional Forest and Fire Capacity Program (RFFC)
This statewide initiative, administered by California Department of Conservation, supports regional partners in advancing forest health, community wildfire preparedness, and fire resilience.
Wildfire Prevention
In 2019, the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) launched the Regional Forest and Fire Capacity Program (RFFC). This statewide initiative, administered by California Department of Conservation, supports regional partners in advancing forest health, community wildfire preparedness, and fire resilience. The Rivers and Mountains Conservancy (RMC) is the regional block-grantee serving the San Gabriel Mountains, southeast Los Angeles County, and western Orange County region.
In January 2023, the RMC was awarded $2 million from the RFFC Program to build on the success of previous wildfire projects, and continue to increase regional capacity to plan, prioritize and implement strategies that create fire adapted communities and landscapes. As part of our RFFC Program, RMC is developing a Regional Priority Plan (RPP) to identify the region’s most critical wildfire resilience needs and highlight projects that will strengthen forest health and community safety. The RMC is collaborating with local partners, communities, tribes, and agencies to develop the RPP, which is available to explore below.
